Roof collapses at hotel in Goodland, Kansas after flash flood warning
Heavy rains overnight around the Kansas Colorado border resulted in severe weather and flash flood warnings for much of the area as a decaying mesoscale convective system in the form of a bow echo QLCS became trailing heavy rain and marble sized hail overnight on the 28-29th May 2018.
America’s best value inn, Goodland, Kansas experienced some damage as the roof collapsed due to heavy rain and hail. Close CG lightning strikes kept the occupants awake for much of the night with peak storms at 3am, 4am and 7am.
