The Yellow-billed Stork (Mycteria ibis) occurs in Africa south of the Sahara. It prefers wetlands, shallow lakes and mudflats and is often seen fishing in drying river pools. It feeds mainly on small fish that is catches and swallows whole, sometimes tossing its prey into the air and before catching and swallowing it. This Yellow-billed Stork was fishing in the Olifants River, Kruger National Park, open-billed, stirring the silt with its foot to flush prey.
