A wind turbine catches fire after thunder and lightening strikes

An 11-year-old wind turbine is believed to have caught fire after being struck by lightening. Fire fighters were called to the blaze after the 290-foot=high (89m) wind turbine was spotted burning 7.50am this morning following a storm overnight. The fire service said parts of the wind turbine has broken off and debris has been scattered in the area but there is no sign of danger to public. The turbine which was pictured ablaze in Benwick Road, Doddington, in Cambs., has now been burnt out by the blaze.
