South African animal-park owner Juan Marillier has a special way of letting his "pet" crocodile know it's feeding time: he whistles a tune.

Video filmed last month at the Venom Pit Snake Park in East London, Eastern Cape, shows boss Marillier calling his crocodile over by whistling.

As the croc approaches, Marillier tosses it a whole raw chicken.

"I was just feeding one of our Nile Crocodiles at the Venom Pit Snake Park. People find it strange but this particular female responds to me whistling and that's how I call her when its feeding time," Marillier told Newsflare.
