Enormous amounts of plastic trash washing up on Bali
Collection of shots of enormous amounts of plastic waste that are washing up on Balinese island of Serangan during the rainy season. Indonesia is one of the world's biggest contributors to plastic marine debris. If you look close, you can see mainly single use plastics, like beverage cartons, plastic cutlery, straws and plastic bags, but also larger pieces like styrofoam boxes and even a shoe. Most of the trash that gets washed into the ocean, never makes it back to shore, but gets carried away into the open sea by ocean currents, where it a great danger to marine life.
