An unusually large infestation of moths seen swarming around lampposts following hot weather and sudden rain fall.

Thousands of the insects came out in force in Chonburi, Thailand, on May 15, causing annoyance to passing drivers.

Resident Salick Kitmanee said: ''The weather that day was very hot, then it rained and it cooled down very quickly. There were thousands of moths all gathering around the orange lamps.

''I thought that they caused a danger to motorists. I've never seen so many all flying around together at the same time.''
