A videographer captured a fountain of lava in Hawaii’s Kilauea from the edge of a doors-free helicopter.

The footage shows lava emerging from a fissure in the ground of Leilani Estates.

The filmer writes:’’I have been filming Kilauea volcano for many years, but I have never seen such fissure eruption before.

‘’It is very tragic and very beautiful at the same time.’’

‘’My flying companion Nick's house is located only 5 miles from the fissure that has already made so much destruction.’’

‘’Nick and his family were forced to evacuate, but nevertheless, he flies almost every day to film the amazing force of nature.’’

‘’Maybe It gives Nick some satisfaction to have his feet over the fissure that forced him out of his home.’’

I have been filming Kilauea volcano for many years, but I have never seen such fissure eruption before. It is very tragic and very beautiful at the same time. I filmed this video on June 2, 2018 from doors off helicopter. My flying companion Nick's house is located only .5 miles from the fissure # 8 that has already made so much destruction. Nick and his family were forced to evacuate, but nevertheless he flies almost every day to film the amazing force of the nature. Maybe It gives Nick some satisfaction to have his feet over the fissure that forced him out of his home, but probably it is simply the best position to film from the off dors helicopter.
