Rescuers arrived just in time to catch this wild snake - after it attacked a toad.

Home owner Kung Kongsawat, 38, head rustling next to the pond in his front garden in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand on May 21.

He kicked away the oriental rat snake and called the emergency services who snared the three-metre long serpent as it had a stand-off with the toad.

The toad was wounded on its side after being bitten but survived the attack after Kung took him in to be cared for.

He said: ''There's a grassy swamp near my house so I think the snake came from there. I don't want it in my garden.

''The toad was hurt but he was still moving around so I took him into a box and gave it food and water for him to get stronger.''

The snake was filmed putting up a fight as it desperately tried to escape but the Kamphaeng Phet caught it and drove it away to be released back into its natural habitat.
