This little cobra caused a stir when it was seen slithering through a street food cafe.

The one-metre long highly venomous snake wriggled behind the gas stove at the take-away restaurant in Udon Thani, Thailand, on May 8 at 11am.

Shop owner Bupparet Wuttisen, 44, called in snake catchers who used long metal claws with mechanic grabbers on the ends to pick up the cobra.

Bupparet said: ''I came in the morning to open up and saw the cobra under the steel shelves. It ran away and hid near the cooker.

''I've lived here for four years and it's the first time I've seen a snake inside. I know that cobras are very dangerous so ran outside and called for help.''

Local residents came to visit the shop after the incident as it's believed that finding a cobra inside in the morning is lucky. They used the house number 415 in their lottery numbers while the cobra was released back into the wild.
