The brand new £3.1 billion aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth visits Cornwall to take on new planes and helicopters before continuing with its sea trials.

Weighing in at 65,000 tonnes and 280 metres long, the crew of 679 will increase to 1600 when the airplanes and helicopters are aboard and the vessel is fully functional, according to the filmer.

The carrier is the largest warship ever constructed for the Royal Navy and has an operational range of about 12,000 miles.

Some of the crew can be seen running around the flight deck in the early morning sunshine, at about 6.30am.
