A terracotta army of football players and supporters has been unveiled just in time to celebrate England's World Cup win on Monday night.

'Our Game' the art installation made from 5000 figures, depicts the Shrovetide game - where it is thought the modern game of football has its roots.

More than 3000 people in Ashbourne, Derbyshire helped to make the clay figures that make up the stunning, Arts Council-funded, artwork in the town's St Oswald's Church.

Sarah Heaton and Helen Cammiss from @theclayrooms
spent a week arranging the display where the ball is seen above the players in the centre (or hug as it's known) of the game. "This is a community project involving clay - the Shrovetide game is one thing that unites the community - it's embodied in everyone and unites the town" said Sarah.
