a group of us we’re returning from a trail walk at Griffith park and were on our way to observatory when someone from our group said that it smelled like fireworks. Then we looked directly at observatory and saw no fireworks and we looked around to see where smell was comeing from , we looked down the ravine and saw at base of mountain a fire the size of a fire pit and in a mater of minutes started growing rapidly and it went from the size of a pit fire to a full blown fire in like a matter of about 15 minutes.
