This is the moment a scooter rider has a miraculous escape after colliding with a car in high speed.

The rider somersaults through air and lands painfully, but manages to sit up the very moment after collision.

The incident took place in Mangalore in South India on June 18.

A CCTV footage of the incident shows a car making a U-turn on a busy road and coming in the way of a scooter.

The rider, who is speeding, is unable to stop his scooter and crashes into the car. Under the impact, he is flung across the car.

The man, who has not been identified, managed to sit up on his own and was rushed to a hospital. Doctors examined him and declared that he had suffered only minor injuries.

Residents of the area said the road leading to the local airport had been witnessing frequent accidents and urged officials to make it safer.

Anil Fernandes, 42, a resident of nearby Bondel said: “We will block the road in protest if the officials continue to act indifferent.”

A senior traffic police officer, Manjunath Shetty, said he was familiar with the problems of the road and would be soon installing speed-breakers and barricades to regulate traffic.
