A South London resident filmed this intense fight between foxes in his back garden.

Video shows a fox coming up from behind and jumping on a rival before the two start fighting in the back garden in Croydon.

The two continue their spat next door before one makes an escape.

Writes filmer and local resident Tom: "I had no idea the second fox was creeping down the steps so it took me by surprise when there was this sudden fight right in front of my eyes. Fortunately, neither fox spotted me and I was able to film away.

"For the eagle-eyed, yes, there is fruitcake on the walls. That was for the fox before it got jumped!

"Lastly, at the end of the video, as the two foxes have separated and one looks on, the loud growl was my 94-year-old neighbour!

Tom explains that the first fox seen in the video is known to him and has previously wreaked havoc by making holes with its claws in a cover of a Ford Mustang, parked at the front of the house.

Tom told Newsflare that he had been forced to use an alarm because the fox's screams at night from the front of the house had kept him awake as he slept in his bungalow.

The fox at the start of the video has recently been coming to our attention for its mischievous behaviour. It has been hanging out in our back garden for several weeks, mostly only seen by us during the day but at night we know its there because it screams!

I spent a little time filming it in the garden since it was getting a little closer so thought it would be a good opportunity to catch a fox on video up close.
