Shocking dash-cam vehicle captured in the north-east of England shows the moment a "boy racer" who ran a red light at high-speed narrowly avoided a smash with another vehicle.

In video filmed on Wednesday in Teesside Park shopping and leisure complex in Stockton-on-Tees, a white car, which appears to be a Honda Civic, can be heard speeding up from behind.

The dash-cam vehicle, driven by local man Terry Fawcett, and waiting at a red light on Teesside Park Drive, captures the moment the white car ignores the red light and nearly crashes with another vehicle that has started to move forward.

"Oh! F*** me!" a female passenger screams as the white car speeds past. "He was fucking close there, did you see that?"

According to Fawcett, the park is something of a mecca for "wannabe boy racers" who gather at the site.

"As we were at the lights waiting to turn right we could here an exhaust getting louder," he explains. "How no-one was killed, I don't know! Something has to be done about the idiots in Teesside Park on a night."

He adds: "There were loads of them, doing donuts and racing in the car park."
