Noctilucent cloud and mist 24th June 2018
ecided to head to Loch of Skene to catch some reflections, and it was definitely worth the effort, with some fine noctilucent cloud structures and also mistiness on the loch. It was a chilly night with temperatures dipping to around 5 Celsius, resulting what almost looked like arctic sea smoke, this eventually turned to more general mist, a nice way to end the lapse. Also note the wind sheer, with a low level westerly on the loch, opposed by an east or southeasterly breeze presumably above the nocturnal inversion ?.
