Lucky escape for boy after cow lifts and flings him with horn
This is the terrifying moment a cow attacks a boy with its horns.
The boy is thrown away but survives miraculously without any injury.
The incident occurred in Kota, Rajasthan, India, on June 26.
The five-year-old boy was walking along with his two siblings when a stray cow attacked him without any provocation.
As it tried to gore him, its horn got tangled with the boy’s short. It dragged and swung him mid-air, and the boy landed a few feet away luckily without any serious injury.
The CCTV grab created an uproar and the Mahesh Vijay, Mayor of Kota, agreed the attacks by stray cows have increased. However, there was no word from him on how officials proposed to tackle the problem.
Many Indian cities are facing the problem of stray cattle attacking passing vehicles and pedestrians causing serious injury and even death.
Hindus believe that cow is a sacred animal and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has enforced cow slaughter laws strictly. Farmers, who used to sell their ageing animals to slaughterhouses, are now abandoning them leading to the rising menace of stray cows on streets.
Though the government has promised to take care of aged cows, the number of animal shelters are insufficient.
