Protesters demonstrated inside the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington DC against the Trump administration's immigration policy on June 28.

According to local media, protestors, majority of them women, marched from Freedom Plaza to Capitol Hill to voice their anger at the President's policy which has seen the separation of thousands of children from their parents at the US-Mexico border.

Over a hundred people were arrested for unlawful demonstration, with an exact figure yet to be confirmed.

This video, taken by an activist, shows protesters occupying the lobby of the Hart Senate Office Building.

"I hear the voice of our great granddaughters saying 'free our families now'," they are singing. "Women gonna rise like the water, gonna shut detention down."
