Demonstrators protested outside the federal courthouse in Brownsville, a Texas town that borders Mexico, on June 28 to denounce the Trump administration's immigration policy.

The rally, organised by the American Civil Liberties Union, was attended by about a thousand protesters who had come on chartered buses from Laredo, San Antonio, Austin and Houston. At a neighboring park, prior to the march to the courthouse, some protesters shared their own immigration stories and struggles in front of the rallying crowd.

This video shows protesters holding up signs while chanting "Shut it down!"

Demonstrations also took place across the United States in major cities such as Portland and Milwaukee. In Washington DC, protesters occupied the lobby of the Hart Senate Office Building, where local media reported over a hundred arrests for unlawful demonstration.
