A heartwarming video has emerged of a commercial airline pilot proposing to his girlfriend at 38,000 feet.

Ali Kuzey, a Turkish Airlines pilot, made the surprise announcement over the aircraft’s intercom on a flight from Van, Eastern Turkey to Istanbul on Monday.

He addressed the cabin to let the passengers know that the flight was going well and they would be reaching their destination on time before adding “Before the clouds, the birds and the sky, I want to ask Hazel Çağın Gürleyen, who is traveling with you, to spend every second of my life together: Will you marry me?”

Ali then approached his blushing bride-to-be who accepted his proposal amid applause from her fellow passengers.

According to local reports, Ali was not working as part of the crew on the flight during the proposal.
