These burning rings of fire were caught on camera after electrical cables burst into flames in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 15 during morning rush hour at 7am.

Commuter Kamonphorn Worragul captured the alarming scene next to the airport link train at the Asoke-Petchburi juntion.

She said: ''I only noticed it when it started to get really fiery, but the officers arrived quickly to get it under control. It didn't effect the cars as they were still able to drive.''

Billionaire Microsoft founder Bill Gates has previously complained about the health-and-safety nightmare that is Thailand's growing mess of overhead cables.

The complaint led to a 1.4billion dollar government program to bury all 79 miles of cables in the capital underground. The project’s deadline is now 2020 around five years ahead of schedule.
