We recently spend time at a wilderness camp in the Kruger National Park. These camps are unfenced and wild animals roam through the camps at random times and occasions. The video shows one of those occasions at night during dinner time when a spotted hyena suddenly appears on the veranda of the house. The hyena sniffs the air and like a real watch dog it goes and lie down a few metres away from the dinner table. The evening’s dinner plans was to grill meat on the fire while enjoying drinks around the table. The unexpected company of the hyena added to a great atmosphere for the evening even though it seemed a little strange at the time. The hyena eventually lost interest and moved off into the dark bush.
