Emily Cole, a nanny in Portland, Maine, was visiting Ferry Beach with the kids when they encountered a squirrel eating out of a condom.

The footage, captured on July 9, shows a squirrel munching on something inside a condom - it doesn’t seem to be nuts.

It looks like a balloon says one of the kids. Is there stuff inside of it?

Emily can’t believe what she is witnessing.

‘Oh my god!’ she keeps saying in the video. She could have used the experience for a teachable moment but decided to let the kids assume it was a balloon.

Emily writes: ''When we pulled into our parking spot the kids yelled squirrel.

''I looked over and couldn’t believe what I was seeing: a squirrel munching on a used condom.

''It was a mix of hilarious, uncomfortable and just disturbing.

''As funny as it was, it was also pretty sad to know that we leave our world so trashed, but the utter shock kinda outweighed that part for me at the moment.

''Hope he enjoyed his salty beach snack.''

I went to the beach with the kids I nanny for on Monday 07/9/18 in Scarborough, Maine.
