Ride a beagle on a scent hunt
A cool video has emerged from South Africa of a beagle taking part in a scent hunt.
The lemon beagle, named ‘Ember’, takes the viewer along with him as he follows a synthetic scent trail laid by a huntmaster.
The footage was captured using a GoPro camera attached to Ember’s back at a monthly beagle meeting in the countryside near Howick in July.
“No animals are harmed in the hunting process, the dogs are leashed and only released once the scent trail is completely laid. Once the dogs are released they chase the scent to the end of the trail where they are collected again for the next trail” the filmer later wrote online.
