A car in Malta flipped over after a motorist failed to make a last-minute turn-off on the motorway.

Dashcam footage filmed on the Mediterranian island on July 19 shows how a silver Volkswagen makes a last-ditch effort to exit the motorway.

But the vehicle suddenly swerves and hits the wall of the off-ramp, causing the sedan to roll onto its roof.

The filmer writes: "My wife was scared about the crash so she suggested me to go and check if the driver needed some help but after realized that he was fine, I drove away to my office, arriving a little bit late because of that."
