Several confirmed tornadoes ripped through central Iowa on July 19, causing widespread structural damage and devastation in the affected cities.

The video, posted to Facebook by Josh Jondle, shows scattered debris and a house with collapsed walls and a missing roof. This was taken in Bondurant just above capital Des Moines.

According to local media, the tornado struck at around 4 pm. Several streets were closed off and utility officials investigated a gas leak as residents were advised to stay indoors. Almost 2,000 households were left without power.

Neighboring cities Marshalltown and Pella were also hit by tornados that afternoon. Authorities have imposed curfews for locals as damage assessment and cleanup operations began.
