Man hits Shanghai Disneyland mascot on head, gets banned

A Chinese man has been banned from Shanghai Disneyland for six months after he hit a mascot on the back of the head.

The clip shows a man in a green shirt walking up to the mascot, known as ShellieMay the Disney Bear. She wiggles her bottom as she interacts with tourists. The man then uses his hand to strike on the back of her head.

The performer can then be seen using her hands to cover her head immediately.

A tourist holding ShellieMay’s hand at the time, said that the sound of the slap was actually very loud.The performer was carried backstage to recuperate and the man was driven out of the park.

The footage was filmed July 21. According to reports, the man has been banned from Disneyland for six months.
