The current heatwave is taking it's toll on rivers across the country. Here in Malham you can see that Janet's Foss is low which is just a small trickle of water and until recently was completely dry. Gordale Scar less than half a mile from Janet's Foss is totally dry. The waterfall is usually full and fills the area with sounds of rushing water. In this clip all you can here are ambient sounds which echo through the rocky valley. Malham Cove is the start of the River Aire and again is almost dry. Sounds of rocks can be heard as visitors walk across the dry river bed.
