This is the terrifying moment a speeding 4x4 came within inches of knocking over a kid riding their bike across a road.

The white SUV was seen hitting the accelerator before undertaking on a three-lane road in Manila, Philippines on July 15.

At the same time, a young boy on a push bike is pedaling across the road, forcing the SUV driver to swerve at the last second narrowly avoiding a potentially deadly collision with the youngster.

A trailing driver who captured the scene on his dashboard camera said: ''I want people to look at this and remember to be a defensive driver. We never know what's going to happen in front of us on the roads so it's better to be cautious.''
