The Cranston fire in Idyllwild, east of Los Angeles, continued to burn on July 26, forcing more mass evacuations and prompting the governor to declare a state of emergency.

More than 3,000 people have been evacuated to shelters, local media reported, and five homes were destroyed by the blaze. Thousands have also lost power.

The fire began on the morning of July 25 after a 32-year old man deliberately started the fire. He was later arrested and booked on five counts for allegedly igniting several fires in Riverside County.

This video, shared to Facebook by Rob Dobier in Palm Springs, shows an orange-amber glow amid the smoke in the sky at 2 pm.

Around 700 firefighters have been deployed to tackle the blaze, which was five percent contained as stated by media that afternoon.
