Renee Mort had to evacuate her house on the night of July 27 when a raging wildfire swept across a part of Northern California.

In the clip, debris can be seen flying across the front of the car onto the windscreen from the high winds that accompanied the fire while Mort and her family are stuck in traffic trying to evacuate the area.

"I can feel the heat from the fire!" Renee exclaims before shutting the window of the car.

Renee's daughter can be heard comforting her cat by telling him "it's OK, it's OK" when he starts meowing.

The family were able to escape and are "all OK," Mort wrote online.
