Mendocino Complex fires increase to more than 90,000 acres
The Mendocino Complex Fires, consisting of the Ranch Fire and River Fire in Mendocino and Lake Counties, have increased to 90,912 acres and are 24 percent contained, local media reported on August 1.
This video, shared to Tony O'Bryan on Facebook, shows a cloud of smoke above the River fire in the city of Ukiah.
Fire officials warned that while they have help coming in from other states, they are facing a shortage of resources as the growing fire threatened more than 12,000 structures.
The Ranch and River Fires are two of many that have been blazing this wildfire season. Carr Fire in Redding has scorched more than 115,000 acres and caused six deaths, while Ferguson fire in Yosemite has burned around 60,000 acres.
