Desperate mum hurls children from burning 4th-floor apartment before succumbing to fumes
A mother in China saved her two children by throwing them out of a burning apartment on the fourth floor before she fainted and died.
Harrowing video filmed today (August 3) and lasting nearly four minutes shows the mother tossing bedding out of the window of an apartment as smoke pours out, towards a crowd of onlookers below.
The mother then drops her two children one by one from the window - one a three-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy.
Video shows them spinning towards the ground at speed, but by this time passersby have been able to pick up the bedding and stretch it out to catch the pair.
According to local reports, the woman fainted and fell back into the flat from the window edge.
She later died in hospital, according to reports.
The two children were reportedly both in a stable condition.
The incident took place in Xuchang City in central Henan Province.
