Sunset Before Aurora Storm (1)
Sunset over the Sperrins on Sept 11th 2014 from outside Maghera with Canon 600D and 400mm lens, note the contrail and convective cloud moving over the sun. If you look carefully in HD you might notice sunspot group 2158 in the middle of the disk which produced an X-class solar flare with major aurora expected on the nights ahead.
