Rare footage of carp eating lotus captured in southern China

A photographer in China captured the moment a carp leaped out of the water to feed on a lotus.

In the clip, the grass carp jumps out of the water at Jiuzhou Lake at Chengdu Industrial Institute and bites petals off a lotus.

After a series of snaps of carps eating lotus went viral on Chinese social media, photographers from all around the country come to visit and film the rare phenomenon.

The scene was captured by a photographer last Sunday (August 5).
