Buffalo herd investigate lions busy feeding on one of their members
This video was recorded in Kruger National Park and shows a very unexpected scene of a herd of buffalo approaching a pride of lions busy feeding on a buffalo. We came across this pride of lions during safari and they were feeding on a young buffalo that they hunted the previous day. Suddenly we saw a large herd of buffalo in the distance. All the buffalo were focused on the feeding lions. To our surprise a few large male buffalo slowly started walking straight towards the lions. One particular buffalo bull fearlessly walked right up to the lions while smelling his missing herd member getting eaten by the lions. The lions immediately showed that they were not happy with the buffalo’s behaviour. The lions quickly reacted with a number aggressive snarls that send the buffalo back a few meters every time. All the buffalo was snorting and blowing profusely but in the end they realised that there was nothing more that could be done and turned around to finally move on.
