These tourists got an amazing surprise when a massive herd of wildebeest crossed the river just behind their tent.

In the clip, filmed July 15 in Kenya, the couple had gone for a nap when they were awoken by a loud, strange noise coming from being their tent.

“When I got to the deck, I recorded this clip of the last 200 wildebeests crossing the river behind our tent - you can see our plunge pool in the beginning. We were less than 25 feet from the wildebeests!” said Rick Hicks the filmer.

We had just checked into our tent at Sala's Camp in Kenya and taken a nap when we heard a strange noise coming from the river behind our tent. My wife Darnes saw it first and yelled "Get out here, bring the camera, and put it on video!"

Only one other person from the camp saw the crossing, and he retreated when he realized that we'd been napping and my wife had on only her pajama top...
