Armed police officers were called to a street party in Manchester in the early hours of this morning (August 12) after shots were fired.

Chaotic video lasting more than a minute filmed at around 2.20am on Claremont Road in Moss Side by a partygoer shows the immediate aftermath of the shooting.

A female voice cries out "get away from here" and "back off."

Another voice can be heard saying, "Can you hear me?" while another says, "Are you dumb?"

According to the filmer, who lives in Manchester, officers were "struggling to maintain calm and create space around the victim."

He told Newsflare: "I heard about three shots being fired and then people started running. It made a loud bang. Then there was a smell."

Greater Manchester Police tweeted: "Several people have been injured after shots were fired in #MossSide earlier this morning. Extra officers will continue to patrol the area over the coming days."

According to the filmer, around 2,000 people attended the street party.
