Indian Well Water Rescue (Shelton, CT) 8/1/18

SHELTON, CT - At approximately 6:00pm on August 1, 2018, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to Indian Well State Park for a possible drowning near the Indian Well waterfalls. Reports say that witnesses performed CPR and revived the 35 year old man who had been swimming in the prohibited area. Shelton Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly deployed ropes and a stokes basket to remove the patient from the wet and rocky area. They were also assisted by Shelton Police and EMS in extracting the patient from the deep in the trails. A landing zone was also set up for the arrival of LifeStar to transport the patient to Yale New Haven Hospital. He was evaluated overnight and was then fined by EnCon Police for violating the ‘No Swimming’ rules of that area.
