Indonesian artist creates amazing musical instrument from scrap metal
An Indonesian artist has displayed great craftsmanship after creating a Rube Goldberg Machine musical instrument out of scrap metal parts.
Slamet Beard created the contraption out of disused metals from pistons, bicycle wheels, stoves and even an old typewriter.
Combining technical engineering with musical skill, the Indonesian man produced the stand alone instrument in order to become a one-man-band.
Though often mistaken for a robot, the machine produces a repeated percussion sound while Slamet plays on stringed instruments for melody.
Videographer Yaskur Jamhur filmed the artist in Bekasi, Java, Indonesia on August 15.
He said: “Slamet Beard is a unique and quirky artist, creating musical instruments from waste metals.
“The instrument he created was very interesting...There have been many places he visited for concerts. Slamet hasn't yet given a name for the instrument he created.”
