A dramatic video has emerged of the Tangmere steam train apparently flaming.

The footage, caught by Dawlish Beach CCTV on Sunday evening, appears to show flames coming out of the window of driver’s cab of the 1947 steam locomotive, the Tangmere.

A spokesman for West Coast Railway Company denied the accident and told local newspaper Herald Express “It looks terribly exciting but nothing happened. It is a trick of the light. It is some webcam that sits just above the railway at Dawlish It picked up the reflection of the fire box when the door was open reflecting off the steam above”.
