Firefighting plane flies incredibly low over Californian hillside
A video has emerged of a firefighting plane skimming incredibly low over a Californian hillside in a bid to extinguish wildfires.
The footage, captured on Friday in Silverado Canyon, CA, USA, shows a DC10 jet making a low pass as it pours fire retardant slurries over the blazing hills.
The video, shot by a near-by homeowner, includes several drops by firefighting aircraft and helicopters.
According to the L.A. Times, the fire, which started on Friday, was 80% contained by Monday but burnt nearly 1,000 acres of land.
