Cancer-stricken father walks daughter down the aisle 3 days before dying
This is the heart-breaking moment a cancer-stricken father walks his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day on a stretcher.
Charlotte Villarin's 65-year-old father, Pedro, had been bedridden after a year of battling advanced liver cancer.
But he plucked up the strength to make it to his daughter's big day - which was brought forward by two months - and he was wheeled down the aisle by her side in Manila, Philippines, on August 9.
Relatives helped to pull the stretcher towards the altar while the dying father held his daughter's hand. He passed away three days later on August 12.
Newlywed Charlotte said: ''This was really an emotional moment. My father's one wish was to see his daughter married and we made it come true for him.
''It made the day very bitter-sweet. It hurt me knowing that he would be leaving us but I was happy that he was there. I am happy he could see me get married.''
Charlotte and husband Mark Cordova's wedding had to be done two months earlier than their planned date because they thought her father would not live long enough.
She added: ''My father was admitted to the hospital for extreme pain. We were going back and forth in the hospital beforehand.
''We just wanted to bring the wedding forward so he could be there.''
