Indian officials captured a male monkey recently that had created havoc by biting at least 30 people.

It had even a pushed a few people from the roof of a building in Bhubaneswar, prompting residents of the area to block the road for an hour in protest.

A team from a local biological park tranquillized the monkey and removed it to a far away habitat.

Honorary Wildlife Warden Subhendu Mallik said the male monkey had been raised as a pet and then abandoned by its owner.

“It was used to getting easy food from humans. It would attack people when they would not respond to it,” he said.

“Langurs are a protected species under Indian laws and it is illegal to keep them confined,” he added.
