Trilled to visit Port Isaac the day the Rowing Club set out to practice their skills aboard pilot gigs Corsair and Unity, on Thursday, June 28, 2018 - at the start of the Great Heatwave.

THE RE-DEDICATION, 20 YEARS ON, OF THE CLUB'S FIRST PILOT GIG, CORSAIR, ON APRIL 20, 2016, AT 12.30PM ON THE PLATT, PORT ISAAC

“Port Isaac Rowing Club would like to thank the many people who helped contribute and who came to Port Isaac in celebration of the Club’s 25th anniversary.

A beautiful sunny day at Port Isaac marked 25 years of the launch of our first Pilot Gig, Corsair, with a re-dedication ceremony, conducted by the Rev’d Dr Elizabeth Wild, accompanied by the Port Isaac Chorale; and the gig showered with champagne by Peter “Dasher” Reveley, who made Corsair!

The afternoon was enjoyed with a BBQ, beer and cakes on the Platt, making it a truly memorable and heart-warming occasion.”

The re-dedication of Corsair is the highlight of our year-long celebration of her first launching in Port Isaac.

We are delighted that so many significant people from the past who are linked to the club also came to join the celebrations.
