In the Himalayas, a rescue worker zip lined across a flooded river to pull out a horse
Officials rescued a horse from a flooded river in the Himalayan region of India.
The Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team pulled out the horse that got stuck in the flooded Yamuna river in Uttarkashi.
The members of the SDRF tied ropes around the horse and pulled it to safety.
An SDRF member in Uttarkashi said: “The horse had probably been taken to the river to mine sand illegally. It was abandoned after it got caught in a flash flood triggered by rains.”
The Uttarkashi region experiences flash floods, landslides and heavy downpours during the monsoon season.
