This video captures the moment a mechanic freed a cat that had gotten trapped inside the body of a car in Belgrade, Serbia

According to local media, the incident happened on August 15, and on the day there had been a storm in the city, possibly leading the cat to look for shelter under the car. The cat had somehow climbed inside the bodywork of the car, getting stuck inside the metal structure.

While driving, the man said he heard non-stop meowing and had driven almost a mile before pulling over and realising that there was a cat stuck inside.

He then brought the car to a mechanic, who patiently removed the cat.

A cat who somehow managed to get stuck inside the body of a car had to be freed by a mechanic.

The incident was captured on the camera phone of the vehicles owner in the capital city of Belgrade in Serbia.

According to local media, there had been a storm in the city which they believe led the cat to look for shelter under the car of famous national TV presenter, Milos Maksimovic.

However the feline somehow managed to climb up and inside the bodywork of the car and got stuck inside the metal structure,

The TV presenter describes how he noticed that something strange was going on when he heard non-stop meowing whilst driving his car.

He told local media he had driven almost a mile when he realised there was a cat stuck inside the car and pulled over.

However he was unable to get it out form where it was wedged and therefore drove to a nearby mechanics for some help.

The video shows the car which has been elevated and the mechanic underneath unscrewing the metal sheet of the cars underbelly.

The mechanic patiently and gently manages to remove the black and white cat which is holding on to the car for dear life.

The person filming cheers as the cat is extracted and placed on the table, while the mechanic strokes it to try and calm it down.
