Mapangubwe National Park (A World Heritage Site) , in the north of South Africa on the border with Zimbabwe and Botswana is renowned for it's large herds of Elephants .Outside of the rainy season water is scarce and so mud pans fed with water from water pumps in the area are popular for all species of animals throughout the day. Here we see groups of Elephants wallowing in the cool mud for hours on end.The babies amongst amongst them make the most of the interaction -their delight is obvious !
