Izzy the cat is only a year old, but her capabilities are much more advanced than those of your usual feline.

The kitten, whose name is short for Isabella, is a mix of Maine Coon and some other unknown breeds.

The owner, Nate, makes high powered lasers. However, he also has a temperature gun with a very low-powered laser, which Izzy (of course) likes chasing.

"After about a month she realised where the laser was coming from," Nate says. One day she started to play with the temperature gun, and Nate showed her how it worked. "Just once" he says.

"After that she figured it out and I got it on camera ... she tries t o'catch' the laser but then runs back to the temp gun to turn it back on when it 'disappears'."

The cat doesn't have any other cats to play with, so her fixation on her new "toy" is perhaps understandable.

"She's as smart as a whip!" Nate adds.

My cat loves the red laser from my temperature gun, so much so she has trained herself how to use it! She does this everyday now!
