Very bad period in 2018 north Devon England last winter. This Ford Ranger 4X4 got stuck outside my house in drifting snow which had blown across the field opposite and dumped it in the lane.The guys had no rope and asked if i had some. Of course !! As an engineer i have everything ! The rope in question was pulled from the sea by a fisherman who thought he had a whopper on his line....instead he pulled in this rope. I asked if he wanted it and soon it was mine.I explained all this to the tractor driver and his mate in the teeth of the snow blizzard which was raging at the time..bizarre or what ! He said the rope was too good for the job but i just insisted he brought it back when he had finished with it. They didnt know how to tie the rope to the tractor so i showed them , two round turns and two half hitches otherwise they wouldnt get the thing undone. I got my rope back and it lives in the garage ready for the next exciting outing !!This rope has some history and thats after it was pulled from the sea at Chisel Beach Dorset.
